So why am I blogging? Great question!
I want to share my art. I create fine art using artist grade colored pencils. I use a process of layering that provides vibrant color and depth to my drawings. After layering the colors, I blend them together using a heated surface. I use a tool designed specifically for this invented by Ester Roi, called the Icarus Painting Board. You can learn more about the board at Icarus.net.
As for materials, I use a combination. I use Caran D'Ache Neocolors, Prismacolor Premier Pencils, Faber-Castell Polycolors Pencils, Caran D'Ache Luminance and Pablo Pencils, and Lyra Pencils. I don't always use them all in every drawing I do, but they all have a purpose. For surfaces I use Rising Stonehenge paper, Bristol Vellum, and Graphix Drafting Film.
As I post, I will show you examples of my work, and I will share what materials are used. I will also share why I chose those materials.
Occasionally, I work in graphite as well. When I do, I'll share that with you too.
I may even sneak in some of my glass work!
